I returned to bootcamp yesterday, still sore from my workout two days before. Wednesday’s workout was not that bad as it was “test day”. Our fearless leader gauged our performance, measuring how many pullups, pushups, and situps we could do as well as how quickly we could run two miles. There was plenty of waiting around while Marta and I waited for other groups to finish. I also realized that running two miles is not as far as I thought. It seemed like further in high school but I think I’m in far better shape now.
But anyway, here’s my stats at the beginning of bootcamp:
-7 pull ups
-49 situps in two minutes
-24 pushups in one minute
-2mi run in 15′44″.
I was one of the first ten people to finish the run. I was really happy about that because in high school I was always the last person to finish my run during tennis practice. Sadly, it’s more than five years to get over.
I just wanted to make a comment in reference to your blog entry on June 6t, “Boot Camp: Chilumba’s Revenge Begins”.
At the beginning of your blog you said that “Due to Chilumba’s persistence, you sighed up for boot camp”….well….i know that Chilumba has also being pretty persistent about you getting a fiancee…..so…..does this mean that “Due to Chilumba’s persistence you will also have a fiancee pretty soon?…just wondering….just wondering…I hope boot camp goes well.

Does the engagement…
-last 8 weeks?
-meet twice a week for 90 minutes each?
-cost $80?
Wait, so you’re actually paying money to get bossed around?
I’m paying to be politely bossed around. I think the yelling would be extra.
