File this under “how badly do I want a free lunch”:

I just had a professor add me on Facebook. As an undergraduate, I would probably have been creeped out. As a grad student, I’m psyched that a prof would willingly associate with me.

I added a few of my cousins on the ‘book as well; I wonder if they want to be my friend on Facebook or are just too polite to say no. It’s strange having the same access to them that their friends do, and I’m not sure I like it. It’s like running into your teacher in the grocery store.

…well, if you were weirded out by running into your teacher at the grocery store. These days, I would just take that as an invitation to talk about how conference papers and projects were progressing. Lame.
